Manual Therapy
These are techniques that includes:
- Joint mobilisaiton: It is a movement performed by the therapist on the joints with varying amplitude and speed to reduce pain and to improve mobility in the joint.
- Soft tissue techniques: Is a targeted deep tissue ,trigger point release , or myofascial release done to the muscle or the surrounding structures to reduce the adhesion, constriction, and restriction in the muscle and the joint associated.
- IASTM: Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation: It is a technique where a specifically designed metal or a plastic tool is used to mobilize the soft tissue to break down adhesion, or restriction so as to improve flexibility, blood flow, and function.
- Manual traction: Is a technique where the therapist would apply a traction force with or without the help of belt to increase joint space so as to reduce the compressive load to the joint there by reducing pain and restriction in the joint.
