Sprain / Strain : Injury to the ligament or tendon surrounding the ankle joint or toes leads to instability, pain, decreased mobility, strength and function.
Tendinopathy : Dysfunction of the tendon to the ankle or foot leads to pain, decreased mobility , strength and function.
Plantar fasciitis : Inflammation of the fascia of the foot, which limits function due to pain, and decreased mobilty of the foot.
Arthritis : Inflammatory or degenerative changes to the joint cartilage, which leads to pain, decreased mobility, stiffness, decreased strength and function.
Morton’ Neuroma : Thickening of the tissue that surrounds the nerve in the toe. One would feel like walking on a marble with sharp pain.
Hallux valgus : It is is the deviation of the great toe angling inwards, causing pain, stiffness and decreased mobility in the toes.
