Is it OK to do physio everyday?

Whether or not it is okay to do physiotherapy every day depends on your individual circumstances. In some cases, daily physiotherapy may be necessary to help you recover from an injury or improve your condition. However, in other cases, too much physiotherapy can slow down your recovery or even make your condition worse.

  • The type of injury or condition you have: Some injuries and conditions require more intensive treatment than others. For example, if you have a recent injury, you may need to do physiotherapy every day to help you regain physiotherapy your range of motion and strength. However, if you have a chronic condition, such as arthritis, you may only need to do physiotherapy a few times a week.
  • Your individual pain tolerance: Some people are more sensitive to pain than others. If you have a low pain tolerance, your physiotherapist may recommend that you do physiotherapy less often to avoid aggravating your condition.
  • Your overall health and fitness level: If you are generally healthy and fit, you may be able to tolerate more physiotherapy than someone who is not.

Here are some signs that you may be overdoing physiotherapy:

  • Increased pain: If you are experiencing more pain after doing physiotherapy than you were before, it is a sign that you may be overdoing it.
  • Swelling or redness: If you notice any swelling or redness in the area that you are doing physiotherapy on, it is a sign that you may be irritating the tissue.
  • Decreased range of motion: If you notice that your range of motion is decreasing after doing physiotherapy, it is a sign that you may be putting too much stress on the area.
